New Open Mapping Gurus

We welcomed 91 NEW Open Mapping Gurus to the E-Community! Together with the 154 Gurus from last year, this new batch will spread the good word of open-mapping in the AP Region!

Validation Completed!

The Nepal Road Network Validation Project successfully completed its validation in Karnali Province, Nepal. The region saw an average of 44.17% increase in road network open data across three districts and 161 locals trained on open-mapping.

Slum Mapping in Dhaka

As part of our Dhaka Thrive project, the AP Hub worked with local stakeholders, including World Vision Bangladesh, YouthMappers, and Acme AI, to conduct open mapping of three key priority vulnerabilities: flood hazards, dengue hotspots, and fire hazards.

Empowering the Asia-Pacific through Open Mapping

The Open Mapping Hub - Asia Pacific (AP Hub), constituted in the year 2021, is one of the four regional hubs supported by the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (HOT). We are dedicated to empowering the Open Mapping movement across the Asia-Pacific region by providing decentralized support and services to local OpenStreetMap communities.

Our mission is to advance the growth and evolution of OpenStreetMap data and create sustainable OSM ecosystems to maximize our impact in the humanitarian and development sectors. Operating in 25 priority countries, our work focuses on five key impact areas: Gender Equality, Disasters & Climate Resilience, Sustainable Cities and Communities, Displacement & Safe Migration, and Public Health.
